A JULY DREAM

I looked out a clear morning window
and saw a child breaking out of a soft luminous egg
then tear free from yet another silky bulb
only to fall into a dark hidden pit
I ran and saved the child
from death by drowning or worse
fearless and wielding my confidence
that sharpest of weapons
